JCBA Ratified

The combined group of Mesa and Republic Flight Attendants voted today to ratify the Joint Collective Bargaining Agreement (JCBA) by 91%.

These midterm contract improvements lay the foundation for our newly merged airline, while maintaining our right to full contract negotiations starting in January 2027. While this has given us the chance to lock in mid-term contract improvements, we have also had the opportunity to learn a lot about the two contracts we brought to this merger together. Understanding the various contract provisions and the experiences we have both had prior to the merger gives us a better ability to decide what our priorities will be in negotiations next year.

The solidarity of our two unions made this possible - turning a time that is typically used by management to divide workers and take more from us instead into our strength. Together we utilize the fleeting leverage we had at the start of this merger to achieve improvements and get us all on the same page before we negotiate for the broad range of improvements we will fight for just as the airline is expected to start really benefiting from the merger. Together we’ve positioned ourselves to achieve our fair share of the profits our work creates.

We will continue to communicate on the implementation of our new contract as plans for the operational integration progress. Our seniority integration process will ensure everyone retains what they brought to this merger in bidding seniority. Don’t forget to check your seniority date on your union’s website by the end of day Monday. We do not expect there are errors in the list, but it’s best that you check your seniority date to be sure before the committee proceeds with integrating the two lists.

Stay close to union communications and make sure your contact information and home address is updated with your union. We will also communicate more on future representation and how our two unions will continue to work together to lift Flight Attendant careers.
