For PDO language please refer to ARTICLE 28 of the JCBA (newly negotiated section, not Republic contract) for information on PDO usage.

Moving forward your current time off balances will be moved into two categories. A Legacy sick bank for any accrued Mesa sick time, and PDO Bank- Paid days off. Any unused Mesa Vacation time you have not used will be converted to PDO hours and will be paid at the rate of 3 hours if you plan bid those remaining hours from your time accrued in 2025.

PDO accrual is effective retroactively January 2026. It is a monthly accrual and is based on your pay step. Although accrual change is already in effect, we plan for it to be visible after your April 16th check when the payroll process is completed.

If you are a flight attendant who will have sick hours transferred to Legacy Sick Bank, please note that for any applicable absences, your legacy bank will be drawn from first until its exhausted, and any additional sick absences will then be drawn from your PDO balance.

If you are a flight attendant who has purchased vacation, any contributions made so far towards the hours you have purchased will be returned to you.  There are a few options for this time off. If you have already been awarded your VBH vacation, the time off will be honored BUT you will now need to have enough PDO to cover it or you can choose to cancel it. If you have not bid any VBH time, you will not be able to as the program has been terminated.
